How should 3M™ Protection Wrap Film be properly removed?
3M recommends hiring an installation professional for the removal process. Use a heat gun or steamer to aid removal. Remove the film at a 30 to 60 degree angle relative to the surface of the paint.
How do I avoid hard water spots on 3M™ Protection Wrap Film?
Wash and dry the vehicle in a shaded and/or protected area. Dry the car quickly after cleaning to help prevent hard water spots/chlorine
stains. Applying a coating of liquid wax after cleaning also helps prevent hard water spot/chlorine stains.
How do I remove fingerprints from 3M™ Protection Wrap Film?
Matte finish films may show fingerprints more prominently, but these can be cleaned off by wiping the film surface with a clean lint-free towel saturated with a mixture of 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and 30% water. Wipe the film surface dry afterwards.
Can the car be run through a car wash after 3M™ Protection Wrap Film is applied?
Do NOT wash the vehicle until 72 hours after installation. Hand wash the vehicle whenever possible. If it must go through a car wash, choose a touchless option as brush car washes may dull and scratch the film as well as lift the edge of the film. Loose film could tear away from a moving vehicle. After washing, check the entire film installation carefully for edge lifting. Return to the installer to repair, remove, or replace damaged film.
