Laird Plastics 2026 Leadership Meeting

Laird Plastics 2026 Leadership Meeting: Strengthening Local Service in Park City
Laird Plastics held its 2026 leadership meeting in Park City, Utah, from August 31 to September 3. About 60 leaders representing more than 50 locations across the United States and Canada came together to share market knowledge, connect with supplier partners, and strengthen the local teams that serve Laird customers every day.
For most of our customers, Laird Plastics is a local team. It's the team you call when a job needs material, staffed by people who know your business. That relationship sits at the center of how we work, and it gets stronger when every location can draw on what the rest of the network knows.
That's why General Managers, Regional Directors, and other Laird leaders spent four days together in Park City. They heard our new mission statement, compared notes on their markets, met with manufacturer partners, and built working relationships across the company.

Why We Brought Our Leaders Together
Laird runs a decentralized network, so team leaders make many decisions close to the customers they serve. That keeps service local. It also means a lot of valuable know-how lives inside individual teams.
A leader in one market may have found a better way to support a certain kind of customer, handle a tricky application, or keep a busy will-call counter moving. Putting leaders from more than 50 locations in the same room gives those ideas a chance to travel.
That matters because our teams already bring real depth. Laird's sales team averages more than 15 years of plastics industry experience. When experienced people trade what's working across markets, customers get the benefit of the whole network through the same local contact they already trust.
What Is Laird Plastics' New Mission Statement?
Spence Miller, President of Laird Plastics, used the meeting to introduce our new mission statement:
At Laird Plastics, our entrepreneurial mindset empowers every team member. Our mission is to create lasting value for our customers as the trusted local partner, backed by the strongest manufacturing relationships in the industry.
Our service-driven approach to this mission emphasizes reliability and local inventory stocking, built on the following pillars:
- In-person relationships
- Proactive solutions
- Personalized expertise
Each pillar describes something customers should be able to see in their day-to-day work with Laird.
In-Person Relationships
Strong customer relationships are built in person, by people who know the customer and their work. That's what our teams are there to do.
Proactive Solutions
The aim is to bring customers options before they have to ask, whether that's a better-fit material, an alternative when a product is hard to get, or a fabrication service that saves a step.
Personalized Expertise
Advice should fit each customer's application, industry, and market. Our specialists pair their own experience with support from the manufacturers behind the materials.
The statement also names two practical commitments behind this approach: reliability and local inventory stocking. For a distributor, keeping the right materials on the shelf close to the customer is one of the clearest ways to back up a promise.
Spence connected the first pillar directly to the reason the group was in Park City:
“Just as Laird's approach to business is built on strong, in-person relationships with our customers, there is value in building those same relationships among leaders across our business, like we are doing here right now.”
Spence Miller, President, Laird Plastics
Recognizing Service Milestones and Promotions
Spence also recognized 2026 service milestones and promotions from across the Laird team.
For customers, recognition like this matters more than it might seem. People who have spent years with Laird know the materials, the manufacturers, and the details that keep a project on schedule. When those people stay and grow into bigger roles, customers keep working with someone who already understands their business.
Regional Breakouts and Supplier Meetings
Regional breakout meetings and supplier meetings ran throughout the week.
The breakouts gave General Managers and Regional Directors time with the peers who know their part of North America best. Smaller groups make it easier to get into the specifics of each market, the kind of detail that's hard to cover with about 60 people in one room.
The supplier meetings brought Laird leaders together with key manufacturer partners. Our mission statement describes Laird as backed by the strongest manufacturing relationships in the industry, and those relationships need the same care as customer relationships. Time together in person keeps our leaders close to the product knowledge and support behind the materials customers buy. It also gives manufacturers a clearer view of what each market needs.
Closing Sessions: TrenchSafe and Financial Best Practices
The meeting wrapped up with a presentation on the TrenchSafe program. TrenchSafe is a Laird Plastics brand that serves trenching, utility, and power line professionals with products such as duct bank spacers and bore spacers, backed by engineering, design, and fabrication support. The session focused on how Laird locations can best serve TrenchSafe customers with value-added services.
For contractors working on underground utility and power line projects, the goal is simple: more Laird locations ready to support those jobs with the right products and services.
A financial report followed, covering financial best practices leaders can apply at their own locations. Financial discipline matters to customers, too. A well-run team is in a better position to keep the right inventory on hand, invest in its people, and deliver consistent service.
Spence closed the meeting by thanking everyone for their time and camaraderie.
Building Relationships Outside the Meeting Room
Conversations kept going after the sessions ended. Throughout the week, leaders headed out for golf, hiking, Jeep tours, and horseback riding in the mountains around Park City, and curling rounded out the lineup.
That time together carries over into everyday work. It's easier to call a colleague in another region for help when you've already shared a trail or a tee time. When a customer's project calls for material, capacity, or expertise from another market, those connections can help our teams find answers faster.

What Does the Park City Meeting Mean for Laird Customers?
The meeting ended September 3, and the real test is what happens back at each branch. Our leaders went home with a clear mission, ideas from other markets, stronger ties to manufacturer partners, and more colleagues to call on.
For customers, that should show up in everyday service: a local team that knows your business, brings ideas before you ask, and can draw on the experience of a network that spans the United States and Canada. That's the partnership our new mission statement describes, and it's what the week in Park City was built to support.
Thank you to our valued supplier partners for their support of and participation in the meeting: 3A Composites, 3M, General Formulations, Kommerling, Sekisui Kydex, Mitsubishi Chemical Group, Plaskolite, Primex, Roechling, and United Industries UltraBoard.
